LA1: understanding the purpose of diegetic and non diegetic sound

there are two types of sound in movie production they are diegetic and non diegetic the diegetic sound is when the noises and sound is already in the environment and on set the sound is not added in or edited for example dialogue between characters, foot steps or wind. then there is non diegetic sound which is a sound that does not exist on scene and is added into the scene later on by the production team.
the diegetic sound in this scene is when both the characters are talking to each other and when snoop dogg raps the opening verse to the track nothin but a G thing also the character that plays DR DRE, him playing the keyboard this sound is also diegetic because you can see him playing the keys and producing a melody suitable for the song he is trying to produce which is suitable to the scene because back in the 90s hip-hop music was produced by actual instruments rather than digital production also it helps us understand that the characters as creative independent musicians. the non diegetic sound in this scene is the beats in the background where the percussion and drum beat is playing this beat relates to the movie because its a hip-hop genre beat and it gives of a positive vibe to the listeners also it shows that the characters are specifically 90s hip-hop artists also this sound track was picked to suit the hip-hop fan base.

the diegetic sound in this scene is when the cast crew are forcing and threatening  Eazy-E to sign the contract papers to release DR DRE and DOC from ruthless records to join death row records which is owned by suge knight and the piru mobb, the language they are using is very vulgar and intimidating to show thats they aren't playing around and mean business this shows the viewers that they are powerful dangerous men that will do anything to get their way. the non diegetic sound in this scene is when the piru mobb starts beating up Eazy-E to make him sign the contracts the sound is used to show the viewers how brutal and determined the piru is to sign DR DRE and DOC also the music in the background is non diegetic the music is really slow and dark to show the brutality and seriousness of the situation also this music is used to keep the viewer on edge knowing something bad is going to happen to Eazy-E also the music is suitable for the scene because it gives off a negative edgy vibe.
