LA3: Know about research methods

primary research
primary research is where you conduct the research your self it includes going directly to the source that you want to get the information from them. you could give them surveys to fill in or questionnaires. usually this method is used on customers and prospective customers, for primary research you could also use one to one interviews and other various interviews like radio broadcasts, focus groups, postal surveys. 
secondary research
secondary research includes the analyzing the previous data that was already collected by you or someone else. secondary research is made by primary research which is the main source of the data used. whereas secondary research uses primary research sources to collect its data. examples of secondary research are book, google, previous interviews, research methods reports and questionnaires.
quantitative research
quantitative research is, explaining the outcome result by collecting numerical data which after is analyzed using mathematical methods and strategies to figure out the mode of the research. there are four main quantitative research methods and the following are descriptive, correlational, experimental and quasi-experimental.
qualitative research
qualitative research is a scientific observational method to gather non numerical data. this type of data is used for refers of meanings, metaphors, definitions, concepts, characteristics, symbols and description of things and not for counts of measures. examples of qualitative research are observation          archival records.
